PowerSchool is a secure web-based program that helps strengthen communication between the school and home. It provides parents and legal guardians immediate on-line access to their child’s attendance records, academic progress reports, and report cards.
Another feature of PowerSchool is School Alert Messaging which gives our administrators a quick way to send alerts to parents via a recorded phone call, e-mail or text message. This is a very helpful safety feature; for example if there should be a weather delay or an unexpected early dismissal, all parents and guardians can be immediately notified.
Divine Mercy Academy, as well as many other Catholic schools in our diocese, utilize PowerSchool. When a student first enrolls at Divine Mercy, they receive a PowerSchool Access ID and an Access Password. Parents or guardians are then asked to log-on to PowerSchool and set up their account. Once their account is set-up, parents or guardians will have direct access to their student’s attendance and academic reports.
PowerSchool Access ID and Access Passwords do not change as students progress from grade to grade. The Access even follows them to our diocesan high schools. It is however the responsibility or parents and guardians to log-on at the beginning of each school year (and periodically thereafter) to review their PowerSchool account and to make sure their contact info is current.
